In India, getting a government job is like a dream. We have heard recently that for 400 peon jobs in UP, more than 25 lakh candidates had applied. In bank jobs, 40-50 lakh candidates apply at once for few hundred jobs. No matter, how good a candidate in studies? There is no guarantee that he/she can make any promise for his selection.
Two years back, a twist came in the banking jobs when Bank of Baroda had first brought Manipal academy in action. When candidates apply for post of PO then they are asked to go for one year training and after completion of training, they join I bank. One year course fee is more than 4 lakh so it is not affordable for everyone. If you go for loan with the bank then after completion of training, you would get 24k in hand. Isn’t something strange? A probationary officer and salary is lesser than 25 thousand.
Are banks playing with helpless condition of candidates in India? Over the years, we have seen numerous scams in the government jobs. Recent scam at staff selection commission of Bihar is also very unfortunate. On other hand, software industry is also shrinking because enough new jobs are not available. Whenever exam for government jobs come then traffic automatically surges.
Overall, current recruitment of few banks through Manipal Academy is really unfortunate. Government must intervene before it gets late else condition will get further worse. We have had hope with new government but nothing happened in spite of assurance that 2 crore new jobs will be created every year. Nowadays there is trend of going to gulf nations as labor, which shows condition of country. Government must look for this rising problem else results would be devastating.
